Full Disclosure: This is a social media observati Full Disclosure: This is a social media observational awareness post. Not personal. I'm good.

Whatever happened to being persuasive because you have something great to say or because you have something to share that brings life?

So you’re right and I’m wrong. Gotcha. I’ve never fallen in love or given my unchecked loyalty because I was bullied into it. Have you?

Being waterboarded with the truth is still being waterboarded.

If no one is listening to your rant maybe it’s because they can’t hear your message over your toxic superior attitude.

Just sayin. If you’re being a jerk? I don’t want to hear you. If it’s actual truth and I’m trying to live an honest life? I’ll find it somewhere. But unlikely that it comes from you.
As we are coming up on the holiday season, for bet As we are coming up on the holiday season, for better or worse, it can feel overwhelming. The Festival of Dedication, often called the Festival of Lights, coincides with The Holiday Which Shall Not Be Named and I had some thoughts about it. So, I wrote up and recorded a little something.

I've been pondering what Hanukkah might mean to us and why it's worth remembering and wanted to share it with you. It is NOT one of the Appointed Times, the Mo'Edim. There is no obligation or command to keep it and there is no Shabbat other than the regular 7th-day sabbath within it. But I still think it's worth the time and effort to remember the story and tell it.

Yeshua was in the Temple during the festival so we know at least He didn't avoid it. Besides, the story has never, in my lifetime, seemed more appropriate. Read or listen (it's a bit shy of 10 minutes) and I hope you are encouraged.

Pecan crusted trout… What a lovely way to celeb Pecan crusted trout…

What a lovely way to celebrate my husband on his birthday and to enter into Shabbat.
I am not gonna lie. This past week has been rough. I am not gonna lie. This past week has been rough. The intensity of the feasts already has my attention but then the political unrest, the polarization of opinions. People I love being ill and struggling. Lots of transition. I can’t help but feel nostalgic for a time when it seemed we were friendlier.

But I want to be honest too. There has never been a time when we were to be “friendly” with sin. So much of what we are facing, as followers of Yeshua, is the opposition of sin getting louder and our opportunities to honor YHWH being even more obvious.

So, I encourage you today to be kind to all but faithful to One.

Shalom on your household as you prepare for Shabbat and Sukkot!
It is not divisive to say that I have to take care It is not divisive to say that I have to take care of myself while supporting your right to do so as well.

It is not divisive to make decisions that prioritize my safety and well-being while recognizing you should do that too.

It is not divisive to put a series of options on the table and step back.

You know what is divisive? Ultimatums and tantrums and fear mongering.

People have been dying since the inception of the first moments outside the Garden. It is a part of living.

We cannot out run it. We cannot outsmart it. To every human is a beginning and an end.

I refuse to be bullied into a decision to do what I believe is wrong simply because their agenda needs to be served. No matter how many times they attempt to manipulate us.

I refuse to pretend we are having a conversation about safety and public good and not about controlling and destroying nations at the whims of idiots in power. When a nation screams like banshees over the idea of saving the lives of innocents in the womb while telling us that a medical choice is the reason people we have never been in contact with are dying?

And idiots they may be. But they are powerful.

The cognitive dissonance is dumbfounding.

Is it time for Hawaiian shirts and baseball hats with nails?

I don’t know.

But I do know there is a line in the sand. I do know that we have to know where we stand on it. You search it out.

We may not deserve the battle. We may not feel ready for a war of conscience and ideas. A war that many are eager to fight with boots and fists to dominate those who disagree. Those lives don’t matter either.

Just remember. In a world where there are dragons there will always be those who rise up to stand against them.

When the Dragon appears, the King is not far.
Just told Brian that this is my absolute relations Just told Brian that this is my absolute relationship goals. And he has absolutely no say in the matter. Except perhaps I’d be willing to negotiate on the distinguished mustache.
Round challah as we have traveled a year from the Round challah as we have traveled a year from the last Yom Teruah and we prepare our hearts for Yom Kippur. I always add dried fruit and nuts to my Yom Teruah Challah. This year it is dried cherries and pecans with a demerera sugar and sliced almond garnish. May you be blessed as you honor the feasts of YHWH!!
Current situation. It’s kinda awesome. Current situation. It’s kinda awesome.
Let’s do this! Next Monday is the day before Yo Let’s do this! Next Monday is the day before Yom Teruah!!! Crazy! Looking at winding up this Torah cycle. Elul has me all evaluating and thinking about all the things.

Recently, Abba led me to release myself from an online community I have been part of for over 15 years. It was time to let it go.

We think of Teshuvah as an apology tour but sometimes returning is also about letting go of things and relationships that no longer fit the person we are becoming as the Holy Spirit transforms us.

Enjoy the study of Yah’s word this week!!

It is all about choices. Life or death. Obedience or disobedience.

We aren’t responsible for the things we don’t know. But that is no excuse to abdicate responsibility for what we do know.

“See, I have set before you today life and good, death and evil. 16 If you obey the commandments of the LORD your God that I command you today, by loving the LORD your God, by walking in his ways, and by keeping his commandments and his statutes and his rules, then you shall live and multiply, and the LORD your God will bless you in the land that you are entering to take possession of it. 17 But if your heart turns away, and you will not hear, but are drawn away to worship other gods and serve them, 18 I declare to you today, that you shall surely perish…” Dt 30:15-8a ESV
